Earrings are jewellery attached to the ear via a piercing or hole in the earlobe or another external part of the ear. Earrings can also refer to clip on earrings, which clip onto the lobe and do not require an ear piercing. Earrings are worn by both men and women, although more commonly women. Earrings have been worn as jewellery by different civilisations throughout history.
