Fan Submitted: Snake Bite Piercings!

May 17th, I went and got two lower lip piercings, some times referred to as “labret” and when placed like mine, commonly known as “snake bites.”

I went to my piercer’s shop, told him what I wanted, and watched him set up his work station. I made sure he opened new needles, opened autoclaved forceps, and had new jewelry.

Then, he marked where the new holes would be. It took him about three tries before they were even. I remember him saying, “This is why I effing hate doing snake bites.” But, he finally got them right.

He held the forceps up to my lip, told me to open it, made sure the hole was lined up with the inside placement, and told me to inhale. Then, a needle went through and I felt a sharp pinch. He slid the jewelry in, but I wasn’t done. He still had to do the other side.

The other one was done in exactly the same way, he cleaned them, and, after paying, I was on my way. I had two new piercings with gigantic bars sticking out of my lip, to allow for swelling, of course.

Getting pierced is a fun experience for me and I absolutely love everything from going and getting it pierced to the happiness when you finally get to put in smaller jewelry.
