Glittering Rose Gold

February 21, 2013

Known as “pink gold,” the secret of its color lies in the addition of copper. Very popular during World War II when gold was rare, it fell out of favor after the war only to make a comeback over the course of the last decade. Nothing appeals to fashion trend-setters more than the concept of exclusivity, and rose gold’s recent popularity coincides with a resurgence of color in fashion.

Rose gold engagement rings and even men’s watches and wedding bands now include rose gold accents. Many pieces are being created by fine jewelry designers such as Cartier, Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta featuring new pieces in tri-color and rose-colored gold.

Welcome back, rose gold. Welcome back.
