Jewelry Care | CHURINGA LOVE KNOT RING

Silver Jewelry

Our silver jewelry are made from premium 925 sterling silver that meets stringent international standards. This is indicated by the “925” quality mark that is stamped on on Sara Verdier’s silver designs. Pure silver is too soft and easily damaged. For use in jewelry, silver is combined with other metals to make it more durable and less easily tarnished. “925” means that the jewelry is 92.5% silver.
Even the finest jewelry will lose its lustre over time. Taking good care of your jewelry from the beginning will help keep them shining for a very long time.

What’s Harmful?

  • Sweat, sea water or chlorinated swimming pool water. Remove your jewelry before you shower or exercise.
  • Alcohol-based product. If you use perfume or hairspray, wear your jewelry only after you are done spraying the product.
  • Oil-based products. When applying lotions, cleansers or creams, wait for them to dry before wearing your jewelry.

Cleaning (With Or Without Gemstones)

  • Be gentle!
  • Dip a lint-free cloth (e.g. microfiber cloth) in warm water and clean your jewelry.
  • Add a mild soap (e.g. dishwasher soap) to the water only if necessary. Avoid antibacterial soap and jewelry cleaners in general as they might be too abrasive on plated silver jewelry.
  • If necessary, you may clean your jewelry with a soft brush.
  • Do not use tissue paper as it might scratch your jewelry.

Storage

  • Oxygen and moisture in the air can cause your jewelry to tarnish. The standard Sara Verdier box that your jewelry comes in has a packet of silica to absorb moisture and reduce tarnishing.
  • Remember to store your silver jewelry on its own. Silver is a soft metal so it might be susceptible to scratches if stored with other jewelry.

Stainless Steel Jewelry

The great thing about stainless steel jewelry is that it does not require much special care. It is durable and does not corrode or rust. While it also does not get scratched easily, it might still be prone to scratches if not cared for.

Cleaning (With Or Without Gemstones)

  • Dip a lint-free cloth in warm water (add a mild soap if necessary ) and clean your stainless steel jewelry gently. Always clean lengthwise and not in a circular motion. Do not soak your stainless steel jewelry in water.
  • Using the same cloth, dip it in clean water and wipe off the remaining soap on your jewelry. Finally, dry your jewelry with another dry and lint-free cloth.

Storage

  • While not easily scratched, it’s always best to store your stainless steel jewelry on its own to minimize any contact with other items that may scratch your jewelry. We recommend storing your jewelry in the Sara Verdier box that it comes in.
