Legendary David Yurman has just unveiled his 2018 summer collection

Out of the 16 collections that have recently presented by U.S. jeweler David Yurman during Paris latest fashion week, The Eye of Jewelry has set its sights on a quarter of them. 

The man famous for the iconic cable, David Yurman, has been in the jewelry trade for over 40 years but it’s actually pearls that earned him his first award in 1970. Yurman is giving back to the pearl this summer with two Solari and Pearl Continuance collections where the smooth gem joins forces with the strong cable. The Solari collection is an evolution of 2005’s Orbit collection using the pearl as a key element putting an end to the cable’s reign as the ultimate design feature. From a “his and hers” ring to a chain pendant and ultra-flexible bangle, the Solari collection can be worn anytime. The cocktail ring in the Pearl Continuance collection is more subtle in terms of design. You can see that the cable has become a sort of gold braid dotted with diamonds which rises up to form a ring with the pearl as its centerpiece.

Tweejoux sounds like a kid’s game! It’s actually the name of a silver necklace set with colorful beads. In between the small cable parts, you can see here and there purple amethyst and faceted beads famous for improving concentration and stimulating imagination. Contrasting with the purple, the blue turquoise beads  combat viruses and infections by treating the body and intense intuition-enhancing Lapis Lazuli. A summery necklace designed to deflect bad vibes.

As the name suggests, Starburst Constellation is an explosion of yellow gold stars of different sizes with a glittering diamond in the middle. It is inspired by the Yurman couple’s beloved memory of fireworks during a break in Paris. The biggest star on the Climber Earrings is subtly ribbed in keeping with the brand’s signature steel cable.
