The nipple piercing is a classic spot to pierce, with which was experimented already a lot in the early piercing history. Nowadays the nipple piercing has a firm spot in the piercing world and is worn with joy by many people. But which size do you use now if it comes to the nipple piercing?
The standard size of the nipple piercing
Because of this piercing’s body location, you nearly never see this piercing on the street. The nipple piercing also has a sensual radiance for many people, so that they don’t want to display it all the time. However the nipple piercing is an often worn piercing by men as well as women.
Because there is a lot of difference between nipples, there is also a lot of difference between nipple piercings. Especially women often have a wider nipple than men and automatically need a larger size.
In general a barbell is worn in the nipple. Even though the circular barbell and the ball closure ring are chosen often, the barbell continues to be the favourite for many people. As already mentioned there is a big difference between one nipple and the other and the standard size of the nipple piercing splits up quickly.
Real nipple piercings have a bar length between 12 and 19 mm, with 16 being the most used. Depending on the thickness of your own nipple you have to choose the size. It’s not unusual to have a size that is a bit to long for your nipple piercing, too small isn’t possible of course. A piercing that is way too long leads to unpleasant situations, because it shoves a lot and gets stuck behind cloths more easily.
For the smaller and thinner nipples other barbells are a great option as well. Watch out for the size, because ‘normal’ barbells are already sold from 6 mm onwards.
The thickness for nipple piercings is the same for everyone and lies at 1.6 mm.
