Who else loves to recycle? WE DO! For our little DIY this week we took a piece of the sea back home with us. Besides, who actually likes to say goodbye to the shore? Create your own island vibes in your very own home with just a few items!
What You’ll Need:
-Your favorite kind of seashells, sea dollars or any other beachy accent.
-Super glue & scissors
-Jute
-A few glass jars or bottles. We recycled some old spice bottles! We encourage you to get creative and reuse a material you already have in your home.
Let’s get started!
Here, all we did was begin to wrap the jute around the top of our bottle as shown below:
After we glued the ends to keep the jute in place, we added a seashell right in the center using super glue.
For our next bottle, we didn’t add as much jute, only a few wraps around the top.
We decided to put a sea dollar on this bottle. We slipped the jute through one of the holes in the sea dollar. Then tied the jute in the back, allowing the sea dollar to dangle just a bit.
Can’t forget to add a star fish!
Always a good day when creating your own beachy escape.
Finished product!
We tied jute around the neck of the bottle so we could hang them. Make yours whatever length you want!
