Personalised Jewellery-Where to start? | CHURINGA GOLD JEWELRY

This is one of the most common reasons that people shy away from Personalised Jewellery, they don’t know where to start! I’d like to assure you that its totally normal to feel a bit confused! It can be hard for some to make something so personal. Some questions to think about in the process of choosing a piece and finding the right things to say are:

1. Who am I buying for?

2. What is the occasion I am buying for?

3. What is the overall ‘theme’ of what I’d like to say?

4. Which items would I like to have personalised?

5. What is my price range?

6. What is my preferred metal?

7. Which fonts do I prefer?

8. What about Designs?

1. Who am I buying for?

It can be a lot harder to buy personalised Jewellery for ourselves than others. Often when we want to buy for someone else, we have an idea of what we want to get them. When we are faced with options for ourselves, whether its our children’s names, initials of those we love, remembering those we lost, or motivational words to live by, it can be a really challenge to choose. Why not get one item with one idea, then plan to get

2. What is the occasion I am buying for?

You might be buying a gift for someone for their special day or for your mother as a thank you for all her hard work. Whatever the case, the occasion you are buying for should factor into your chosen personalisation.

If you are buying for a mum, you might assume she would love all her children’s initials stamped on a necklace with multiple discs.

If you are wanting to buy for a best friend or sibling, choosing something motivational to say on a Bar Necklace might be a good idea. Some words of encouragement perhaps.

3. What is the overall ‘theme’ of what I’d like to say?

Sometimes simple is best. Let initials of loved ones be filled with the meaning. We don’t always have to say a whole lot to show love or appreciation.

When thinking of motivational words to get hand stamped onto a bar, you may think of the person they are for. Who are they? What do they stand for? What have they gone through? A breast cancer survivor might deserve the title, “Warrior” because of the fight she has gone through. A mother might love a piece of personalised Jewellery that has the words, “brave”, “strong” or “loved”.

In short, find out what is it you want to convey and try find a word to describe that.

4. What item/s would I like personalised?

There are many options to choose from with more being added every few months. Choosing a Small Initial Disc Necklace can be the most simple, yet meaningful gift. The Medium Disc Necklaces have a few more options because the disc is bigger then than the small obviously. You can choose to have a name or a word stamped across the disc or have it curved around the inside edge of the disc. The Name Bar Necklace is another nice option to have more words or a phrase hand stamped onto it. You can fit up to 16 characters on this bar with the tiny block font. The Bracelet is a stunning option if you prefer something different. Having initials or designs hand stamped on these discs, you’ll see them clearly while you go about your day.

5. What is my price range?

You may decide to spend a little or a lot but either way, it’s the thought that counts. The options we have start at $60.00 for a beautiful Sterling Silver, 14K Gold-filled or 14K Rose Gold-filled Small Initial Disc Necklace. Adding on another disc is only $10.00 per disc. The Bars are slightly more sitting at $80.00-$95.00. Whatever you decide, it will be a beautiful personalised piece that lasts for a very long time.

This question definitely links in to the next question about your preferred metals.

6. What is my preferred metal?

So, you have decided on personalised Jewellery. Thats great! What metal would you like? There are so many types of metals out there. From Copper to Stainless Steel, Aluminium to Gold.

Of course, each metal has a different price point. Generally, the cheaper the metal, the easier to come by and the supply is high. If you want to spend a bit more on a more traditional metal of silver or gold-filled I recommend you look at my other blog post on How is Gold-plated and Gold-filled different? This will give you some information about how Gold-filled is a great option of you want affordability but also the lovely qualities of solid gold.

The metals I use in my jewellery pieces are all Nickel-Free so make a great choice for anyone, especially those with skin sensitivities.

7. Which fonts do I prefer?

I have four beautiful fonts to choose from. Having different fonts means you can personalise the item even further. The most popular font would be the Typewriter followed by the basic block font. If you are absolutely confused and not sure which font to choose, go for the block as it is a lovely crisp and clear font that makes every letter look good! The numbers I have are all in the Basic Block Font too.

8. What about Designs?

It’s not always a this or that questions. You may want to have initials, names, words AND designs. That is also totally fine! You decide what you’d like on the piece of jewellery. I have a few design stamps that can be chosen for different sized discs/bars.

The flowers may bring back memories or remind you of someone dear to you. The paw print is a symbol of the connection made between humans and animals…a bond that can be so strong!

So, there are many options to  personalise your Jewellery.

In the end, personalising Jewellery can be a bit overwhelming but if you have a little think about it, it can be such a meaningful and special keepsake for someone. All you need to do is pick the jewellery piece you’d like, the chain length you’d like, the font you prefer, add the text how you want it to appear on the piece, add the design symbol number if you’d like to have that.If you’d like more then one disc you are welcome to add on discs from the EXTRAS page.
