Spring 2018 runways have predicted this takeover, if we remember correctly, the models who walked the Prada runway were adorned with oversized nautical accessories. But let’s be honest, this trend left us a little bit dubious! The seashell sounds more like a nostalgic reminiscence of our twenty-something than an upcoming hit. Don’t we say oldies but goodies?

Thanks to a selection of designers who revisited the item, the 2018 seashell jewelry is feminine and delicate. Free from its vacation-only tag, the ocean-inspired accessory is finally elevated to luxury.

Brazilian designer duo Taisa Hirsch and Sandra Aron twists the seashell with a row of multicolored sapphires bezeled in its center while Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana’s drop earrings feature gold-plated shells embellished with red enamel coral, colorful crystals and swinging faux pearls for a whimsical silhouette. On the other side, the double shell bracelet of Yvonne Leon set on a twisted line of yellow gold and highlighted with diamonds is an epitome to femininity. Whether gold-plated, encrusted or set with precious gems, seashells reveal their amazing designs of nature whilst their warm spirit finish to dive us in this nautical trend.

Seashell never felt so contemporary when mixed to color.
