March’s birthstone, the aquamarine, dates back to the second century BC and to the writings of Damigeron. The ancients believed the stone had medicinal, psychological and other positive effects upon the wearer such as granting foresight, courage, happiness, increased intelligence and youthfulness.
The stone is a member of the beryl family and its color ranges from a pale blue to blue-green or teal.
