Top Five Colorado Proposal Spots | CHURINGA Diamond

If you’re lucky enough to live in Colorado, you are lucky enough! With 4 National parks, and stunning mountain views from just about anywhere, Colorado has so many picture-perfect options to host your dream proposal at. With the start of Engagement Season kicking off this week, we wanted to provide a guide with our top-five favorite proposal spots in Colorado that encompass a multitude of varieties that allow you to include your own personal touch.

1. Maroon Bells, Aspen, Colorado

There is a reason that the Maroon Bells is considered to be the most photographed spot in Colorado. Located just ten miles outside Aspen, pictures surely don’t do this place enough justice. Since this is such a popular spot, there is limited access during summer and fall. With that being said, we recommend a late, fall proposal here or planning out your proposal in advance to beat the crowds.

With the leaves starting to change color, the reflective lake and the two peaks in the background make a lovely backdrop for your dream proposal. How romantic would it be to have your significant other say “yes” in such a beautiful, scenic area? If you and your partner love the outdoors and going hiking in your spare time, we believe this is the perfect place to kick off your engaged life.

2. Great Sand Dunes National Park

Since we are so lucky to live in a state where we have access to multiple national parks within a matter of a few hours, we had to select at least one park for a proposal spot. The Great Sand Dunes make for such a fun weekend trip and has views that can’t possibly be beat. This is such a stunning and unique spot that also allows for a more private proposal and makes you feel like you are on another planet.

The dunes themselves are one of the few places in the world where you can experience what is called “Surge Flow.” Essentially, this is a rhythmic wave that mimics those you experience at the beach. If your partner is a beach lover that is landlocked in Colorado, this could be such a special way to embody a personal touch to your proposal. There are also many hotels and Airbnb’s in this area so you can make a weekend trip out of the overall excursion and spend the entire weekend celebrating your engagement.

3. Palisade, Colorado

If your partner is a wine lover, you fortunately don’t have to look too far for a way to encompass this within your proposal. Palisade, Colorado is extremely underrated in our opinion, and boasts over 30+ local vineyards within a matter of a few square miles! As soon as the question is popped, you and your partner can open up a fresh bottle of locally produced wine. In addition to the warmer weather and gorgeous vineyards, there are tons of other things to do.

The trip out to Palisade from Denver takes under 4 hours, and you can make a weekend trip out of it and incorporate other activities such as rafting down the Colorado river, renting bikes and biking from vineyard to vineyard and hiking in the Grand Mesa National Forest. This proposal spot is super well-rounded for people with all sorts of hobbies and makes for such a fun weekend trip to celebrate you and your partner spending the rest of your lives together!

4. Larimer Square

If you and your partner prefer the city over mountain towns, fret no more. There are several different areas that are great in the downtown area for you to pop the question. Larimer square is one of these places. There are so many great restaurants to choose from that allow you to have a simple, yet elegant proposal where you can then celebrate your engagement with a nice bottle of champagne or wine. At night, all of Larimer Square is lit up with gorgeous lights and even has Christmas decorations up in the winter if you are looking for a holiday proposal spot.

If you are wanting to propose over summer, Larimer Square does a Dining Al Fresco in the month of July. Rated top ten for one of the best outdoor dining events, the award-winning chefs and restaurants on Larimer Square extend their dining rooms out into the street for a once in a lifetime dining experience. The outdoor seating begins at roughly 5:00PM during the summer months and the string lights and live music make for such a lovely setting to propose to your love. How beautiful would it be to propose to your beloved on a sunny, summer night under the gorgeous Colorado sky?

5. Steamboat Springs
