Weekly Hip Hop News Roundup | CHURINGA BILING JEWELRY

From Hip Hop Jewellery to Sneaker Culture, here’s what’s hot this week:

With all the world news happening last week, this week is a bit of a slow one, even in the world of hip hop! That said, here are a few tidbits we’ve managed to find for our dear readers!

City Girls JT Drops $300k Chain For Yung Miami’s Birthday

City Girls rapper JT surprised her fellow partner Yung Miami with a whopping $300k chain for her 26th birthday last February 11, showing her tons of love – for the price of a car or a house, for that matter!

On social media, JT posted, “Happy birthday to my EVERYTHING. I spent a car on this I F***ING LOVE YOU & if a b*tch ever think otherwise they crazy!!!! B*tch you love diamonds Chanel & your kids…. it’s all there! Pop your sh*t!!!!”

The hip-hop jewelry in question is an iced out baller chain in 130 carats, complete with iced out details that Yung Miami is obsessed with – diamonds, Chanel, music notes, money and her kids’ names. On the back is an engraving with the words, “I love you, period! – JT”. The iced out chain was commissioned to celebrity jeweler, Elliot Eliantte and reportedly took 2 months to make.

Rappers and Celebrities Changing the Game of Sneaker Fashion

Sneaker culture has flourished sometime during the last decade, and the number of hip-hop and rap celebrities doing stylish collaborations with brands has risen to new heights. From Drake’s close relationship with sneaker power brand, Nike, to Virgil Abloh’s Off-White x Nike collaborations as well as with other designers, celebs have fun designing and showing off their fresh kicks. Here we feature 3 of the most popular rapper x sneaker collaborations out of the 10 in this list.

Kanye West

It’s hard to dispute the fact that Kanye West is at the top of his fashion game right now, with his Adidas Yeezy line as well as with Nike Air Yeezy classics. This rapper turned fashion mogul is definitely a brand all unto himself, and sneakerheads definitely love it.

Travis Scott

A force to be reckoned with in the sneaker collaborations game, Travis started putting his mark on the sneaker industry a few years ago, working with the likes of Nike and the Jordan brand. Come 2020, we’re expecting a few more collabs coming out of Travis’ camp – if the rumor mill is true!

Tyler, The Creator

“Yonkers” star Tyler, The Creator started his journey into collaborations roughly after he exploded into the music scene, with official partnerships with Vans and Supreme, simple because he dressed exclusively in those labels back then! Fast forward to now, Tyler has added Converse unto his belt with the Golf Le Fleur, the Chuck 70s, and the Gianno. Certainly, an underhyped collab compared to his peers, but definitely one of the best sneaker designers to come up out of the rapper front!
