7 tips to let your piercing heal faster

If you got a new piercing, for example a tragus piercing, you are already up to date about the standard hygiene rules. You regularly give it a salt bath, you keep your hands off it as much as possible and you protect it well against all kinds of dirt. However, you can do more than that. By following a healthy lifestyle, your piercing heals even faster. Therefore 7 health tips, that help you to let your piercing heal faster.

Being healthy heals piercings

It naturally speaks for itself, that someone, who lives healthy, has less physical complaints than someone, who doesn’t care about it at all. However, there is a lot of discussion going on about what is meant by a healthy lifestyle. In any case we have 7 very useful tips here, that should help to let your wounds heal faster and therefore also your piercings.

  1.     Take care, that you get enough sleep. Healing mainly takes place if you are in a calm state.
  1.     Take care, that you eat well and healthy. Do not only eat the recommended amount of vegetables and fruits but also enough carbohydrates, proteins and fats. A strict diet to lose weight won’t be good for your healing process.
  1.     Give your body a boost with food supplements. Iron, vitamin B, vitamin C and zinc are important substances for the healing.
  1.     Drink enough water, Water cleans your body and thus accelerates the healing.
  1.     Avoid stress. Stress is known to be a big villain for everything and more. It is even said, that stress lengthens the convalescence around 40%.
  1.     Drink as little alcohol and caffeine as possible and avoid drugs at all. The body has to use a lot of energy to get rid of those three again, energy that isn’t used for healing.
  1.     Don’t smoke. While smoking a lot of carbon dioxide enters your body and that leads to vessel narrowing. Your blood vessels get narrower and that reduces the blood flow through your body. It is your blood that brings all substances, that are needed in the healing process, to the wound. The less blood gets to the wound, the slower it heals.

Those tips seem to be obvious but are unfortunately easily forgotten by most people. That’s a shame because those small habits can make a very big difference. On top of that, it is not only good for your piercing wound but also extremely good for your health in total.
