Heading for Venice with CHANEL for a majestic jewelry stopover

For its new High Jewelry collection, the House of Chanel set sail for Venice, for a vibrant tribute to Mademoiselle’s favorite city.

Celebrating both the architectural richness of the Sérénissime and its spirit, the collection designed by Patrice Leguéreau, director of the Jewelry design studio, unfolds in an aesthetic as precious as it is powerful. The House of the Rue Cambon has set itself the challenge of telling the story of Venice in seventy exceptional pieces.

Sérénissime

For this first stop, the design studio was inspired by the palaces, whose facades are decorated with white and pink geometric patterns, and the polychrome marble floors of the churches. A graphic treatment that can be found in these creations with a neo-baroque style, mixing white and yellow gold, with a mastered contrast.

The lagoon reigns in majesty on this sequence which pays a strong tribute to the elegance of the nautical world. Diamonds and lapis lazuli evoke the white and blue mooring palines of the gondolas that punctuate it, whatever the season. Volute Marine sets express a desire for fluidity and lightness of line, as with this lapis lazuli and brilliants pendant suspended from a rail with alternating star-shaped diamond elements and stones set in a closed setting.

A chapter that honors the Camellia, Gabrielle Chanel’s favorite flower. The glass work, specific to the island of Murano, inspires a revisiting of the flower through a marriage between rock crystal and yellow gold. Special mention for the Venetian Camellia foliage ring adorned with an imposing round diamond.

The spirit of Venice is expressed in the personnality of the lion that rules the city. A wink to Mademoiselle’s astral sign too, which comes in a monochrome version with white diamonds, as well as a flamboyant version combining red spinels, lapis lazuli and yellow sapphires. Our favorite piece? The Secret Lion necklace revealing the profile of two white gold fawns set with pear-cut diamonds set on a 15.55 carat pear-shaped diamond. Simply majestic!
