The Throat Chakra’s colour is blue or turquoise and is represented by the blue Vishuddha Mandala, otherwise known as purity, and is also symbolised by the human race. It is concerned with the senses of inner and outer hearing, the synthesising of ideas, healing, transformation and purification. The Fifth Chakra is the Chakra of communication, dreaming, artistic expression, creativity, sound judgement, self-belief, wisdom, truthfulness and self-expression.
How the fifth Throat Chakra influences us
When the Fifth Chakra is balanced, it allows for free communication, helping us to feel centred and confident. It is also said to help us while we are meditating to connect with our higher guidance. If the Throat Chakra is not balanced, it can create negative influences in the physical and inner self. Can be seen in the form of sore throats, communication problems, speech difficulties and tiredness.
If the energy flow is too high, it can make us inflexible, dominating, egotistical, bigheaded, causing us to have a self-righteous attitude. On the other side of the spectrum, a lack of energy can cause us to be nervous and frightened creating introversion and tend to keep our thoughts and our self to oneself, and also to oppose any change. The Throat Chakra has a significant association with choice and the concept that every decision we make is an act of power and has a positive or negative consequence. The throat represents the expression of your will – the balance of your emotional and mental intentions, thus it is essential to ensure that the Throat Chakra remains balanced to avoid negativity.
