TRIANGL overview + bottoms

Although the first day of summer was just three days ago, I’ve had my eye on the brightly-colored, neoprene Triangl bikinis for quite a while now. Even though I can’t swim (shhhh), just seeing the bikinis makes me want to hit the beach. And that’s totally fine because I don’t think that many people actually swim at the beach, right? 😉

What do casual beach visitors actually do other than walk around, sunbathe, and read under an umbrella? I tried figuring this out the other day and couldn’t come up with much. Maybe I haven’t been beach-ing quite right.

Given that Triangl bikinis are quite pricey- between 79 and 99 USD- and with shipping tacking on an additional 20 USD, I’ve been looking to shopping apps like Poshmark and Mercari in search of a new bikini for a lower price.

I’ve mainly been searching for Triangl tops. After scouring the Internet for reviews, I found that a lot of people were unhappy with the full-coverage bottoms, and after seeing pictures for myself, I must say that I concur.

I personally feel that although the bottoms may look nice from the front, they look odd in the back; the shape is a little too reminiscent of a bowling ball.

In addition, it seems that the neoprene material tends to trap sand in the bottoms, and I frankly don’t think it’s worth the effort to try to get every grain out.

Of course, now that Triangl has come out with their new cheeky bum bottoms, the issue of bowling ball bums has been remedied. And I must say, the new bottoms are CUTE. Cute enough for me to overlook the sand trapping issue. Unfortunately they’re not available for every suit; they’re only an option for certain designs.

I haven’t purchased a pair of cheeky bottoms yet but I’ve been lusting heavily after them. They show just the right amount of bum for me, unless of course you’re into bottoms that cover a bit more. If only Triangl produced bottoms that were right in between full-coverage and cheeky. Moderate coverage maybe?

Stay tuned for my reviews and thoughts on my Triangl collection!
