MAGICAL SETTING: When Chopard Reinvents Setting

Chopard breathes fresh, new spirit into the world of high jewelry with its latest innovation, a magical setting which sets the stone free and magnifies its natural light. A formidable technical feat and a challenge taken up with flying colors by the firm’s master craftspeople.

It all started out with a rather crazy desire which Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s Artistic Director and Co-President, had to rethink the traditional approach to setting, to set stones free and let them play at will with light. Hand-in-hand with her workshop team, Caroline experimented with various structures for months on end until she found the one which fulfilled all expectations: to hold the stones in place, as if by magic, without any visible support.
An ingenious mechanism ensures the stones remain side-by-side, without being overshadowed by the opacity of metallic edging. As such, light can flow freely, inside and around the precious stones, rippling over their surface.
In keeping with its daring, innovative spirit, Chopard gives jewelry a new burst of life with its Magic Setting. This is perfectly illustrated through the theme chosen – the floral cluster. A classic which the Firm revisits with a quest for modernity, for which it is reputed. Here, the floral pattern is styled around an XXL central stone, itself embraced by other just-as-breathtaking stones, all elaborating an extremely modern play on proportion. Diamonds, Sri Lankan blue sapphires, Mozambique rubies as well as Colombian emeralds take centrestage in this collection which constantly dazzles us.
After having unveiled a first set comprising rings, pendants and earrings, rumors have it that other pieces will soon enhance the collection. We’re ready and waiting.
