The Geneva-based designer-creator Suzanne Syz contrives extravagant pieces infused with casually-luxurious style.

A globetrotter at heart, Suzanne Syz boasts a highly-unconventional career path. The Zurich-born designer studied in Paris then chose to settle in New York. There she was part of the highly-prized circle of artists which included Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat and Jeff Koons. A myriad of inspirational personalities who would initiate her in contemporary art and help her develop her sense of color. Suzanne Syz has forever been attracted to gemstones, yet she became a jewelry creator because she wished for out-of-the-ordinary pieces, pieces which were quite the opposite of the stilted adornments worn by ladies of high society.

Her creations are unusual, bubbling over with humor, like her vinyl-record-inspired earrings. She draws her inspiration from nature, from art and more specifically from the pop culture which she fell in love with during her New York years, to create her one-of-a-kind pieces. Not only has Suzanne made a name for herself with her audacious, vibrantly-colored compositions, she has also enhanced her jewelry creativeness with novel materials such as titanium and enamel. Combinations made possible through the experience of her manufacturing workshop located in Geneva which breathes life into the artist’s inspirations. From her famous tranche-cut diamond-set titanium wrist cuffs to her pop-art-inspired earrings, Suzanne Syz’s pieces radiate a particular kind of alchemy, at the intersection between authentic luxury and unbridled creativity.
