Segment rings: The standard size

The segment ring piercing is an under-exposed piercing that is worn relatively rarely. However, this classic piercing has a radiance that you won’t find in any other piercing. On top of that its perfect curve and smooth finish are nearly suitable for every piercing.

The standard size of the segment ring

It’s difficult to assign a standard measure to the segment ring. Because the segment ring is regularly used for stretched piercing holes, its thickness varies a lot. Because the segment ring is used for stretch schemes regularly, it always has the standard size of 1.2 mm thickness. This thickness can be increased up to some millimetres.

The segment ring is placed thanks to the little piece, the ‘segment’, that can be taken out of the ring. Once on its place the little piece can be put back and a perfectly round ring is created.
